i was never a lipstick person, much rather preferred gloss or balm. even if i purchased lipstick occasionally, i never used it more than a few times. Well YSL's Rouge Volupte changed all of that. It's a little ritual i look forward to now and i find myself grabbing it just because. The lipstick is super creamy, and ultra pigmented. The colors are also refreshing; you'll find your classic red (either Red Muse for warmer complexions or Red Taboo for cooler ones) and amazing nudes and pinks too. The application glides on even if you have dry lips (mine are often chapped) the coverage is full yet feels almost non-existent, save the incredible moisture. it's not super long lasting, if it was it would be drier. i wore it and had dinner and drink and talked a bunch and still had some color residue. YSL lip products have their signature mango scent. it's not overwhelming though and just adds to the luxury. and let's not forget the uber-chic gold case which lets the shade peek through and the mirror top! i started with #1 Nude Beige, a great neutral everyday color that runs a little pink. My husband surprised me one day with #18 Red Taboo (the perfect blue-based red for cooler tones; i'm fair skinned and black hair) and #19 Frivolous Pink (a very milky, blue-based pink). I'm looking to get #22 Exquisite Plum too for something darker. You WILL NOT regret this, and it will probably become your little cult item and at the least your favorite lipstick! this made me venture into the whole YSL line; i love the eyeshadow duos, golden gloss, mascara and liner now too! dangerous indeed...(*i would recommend purchasing a lip brush for these, i never had one but i find the head doesn't completely fill out my lip line. and a little tip for wear-- i started using my brow wax pencil around the lip line to keep the color longer!)
