It is definitely the most excellent quality and craftmanship that Dooney & Bourke is famous for. (I have several D&B bags). I love large bags, and this one fits the bill. It is large enough to be used as an overnight bag, or an everyday bag that can hold everything and then some. The leather is soft, and becomes softer with use. The strap fits comfortably on the shoulder and has a 9" drop (but can be also be adjusted).
