If you're going to go metallic then mixing it up is the way to go --- these shoes give off more of a silver/gold vibe than a light gold/bright gold effect which is great for versatility so for me that was a surprise bonus. What wasn't apparent to me from the picture, however, was that the small round beading actually gives off more of an iridescent, almost pastel, multi-colored sheen than a straight, solid gold sheen like the elongated straight beads do. I'm undecided at this point as to whether that's a positive or a negative but either way, the overall look is fabulous. Just beware if you tend to have wider feet --- mine are somewhat narrow to begin with and even I found the 'medium width' to run super slender.
