They are slouchier than how they look in the picture kind of remind of Jessica Simpson style boot. The leather is very nice quality. The wooden heel has the striped stacked appearance but isnt polished or smoothed. Its just wood. Wish it was sanded and covered in a glossy polish to make it look higher quality. The almond toe is very true to the shape and my foot is slighty squished kind of like wearing a pointed toe heel. I am normally a size 8 but ordered a size 7 bc of the other reviews and it fits perfectly. Once I break them in I think the leather will stretch a bit and give me a little more room for my toes. The right boot has been broken in more so than the left and I have about a 1/4 -1/2 inch of room in my heel area. Without socks they fit well Im wondering if I wear socks they'll probably be perfect. But again I need to break them in. Overall I agree that you need to order a size smaller than normal. I am very happy with my purchase. Where I feel the boot is lacking is in the sizing. I, a traditional size 8, ordered this boot in what I thought to be my size. When it arrived I happily slipped it on only to find that I had gobs of extra room in the shoe of the boot. Curiously, I checked both boots to the size on the box to make sure that what was sent to me was in fact an 8. After slipping on two pairs of thick running socks and still having extra room I decided to reorder the boot in a 7 ½. When that arrived I was met with the same, a nicely crafted boot that was huge on my feet. Don’t get me wrong when you’re totting around in a 4 ½ inch heel you need some extra room but this manufacturer gives you plenty. I did decide to keep the 7 ½ only because I did not want to wait another week for a new pair, if this boot had been available in Nordstrom stores I would have certainly returned it for a size 7.
