With help from a great sales man, I was put in a size much smaller than normal but wider. A great fit.
These shoes are well contracted, very nice letter, fitting, everything is well done.
They get complements, which is really never good, but with these its' bad. Way too many people ask about them and then I have to tell people I spent an absurd amount of money on shoes. Rather embarrassing not to mention not something you want people to know about at work. I of course lie and say they were on sale and rather cheap, going out of business sale. In large part I'm embarrassed these cost more than 50 dollars.
The reason it's embarrassing to own these is two fold. They squeak to walk in. They're the most uncomfortable shoes I've owned since my mom stopped buying me shoes in grade school.
A well made pair of dress shoes should be a bit harder in the sole but otherwise on par with your tennis shoes. These are like walking around in cement boots. They're truly awful when they are squeaking the whole way down the stairs!
I cannot express how terrible these shoes are at ANY price and how their price might make them the worst purchase of my life.
At 400 bucks, you should be considering the sports you can play in them. If you are doing that, they're a 3 out of 5 min! If you don't do that, you're got a 1!

I have found few shoes that provide as much satisfaction as Allen Edmonds. The fit is very reliable and the workmanship superb. I also enjoy the savings at the annual sale.

These are gorgeous shoes. I was between these and the park aves, but went ahead with these because they just stand out more. The detail on these is impressive and the color is ideal for casual/semi-formal. These are my first pair of allen edmonds and I am very pleased.

I worked with Walter Kelly in the Durham store and was amazed by the service received as well as the sheer beauty of the shoe. I was looking for a burgundy color, but the more I looked at the walnut color and spoke with Walter, I started to think walnut was the way to go. I was in the store on the last day of the anniversary sale so the price of the shoe was great for such great quality. I wore the shoes a couple of days later to the office and discovered there was an air bubble in the cork. I took the shoes back and Benny knew the problem and quickly helped remedy the problem for swapping the shores for a replacement. The shoes are beautiful and the service received before the sale from Walter and after the sale from Benny was second to none. I will be going back for the next pair of shoes.
