have worn nothing but AE for nearly 20 years, ordered these in black with dainite sole, same 10.5 D as always, but shoe came and way too tight, anyone else have problem with these being too narrow?

This was my second pair of AE. I got the Tap sole, version. After two and a half years I need to replace the heal. Great shoe, I now own six pair. I am replacing all my other "dress" shoes with AE.

Along with the classy walnut color, the stitching and brogue patterning were the first features that caught my attention. I looked over at every aspect of each shoe and admired the high level of craftsmanship.
I also love the fact different the width size is an available option. I opted to get an E width size and I could not be more happier. There is just enough room on the side of feet to "breathe." The soft leather upper and cushioned in-sole make McAllisters some of the most comfortable oxfords I own. You truly get what you paid for.

I bought the McAllister in Bourbon after my great experience with two pairs of Strands. The McAllister is on the same last as the Strand and Park Avenue, and hence offers the same shape and fit as those classic shoes. It has more extensive broguing than the Strand, which is striking in the bourbon color. While it is a classic wingtip dress shoe, the more extensive broguing allows the shoe to be dressed down with khakis or darker denim. It is a beautiful shoe, and is very comfortable after a brief break-in period. While polishing, I found that using the Bourbon polish and buffing it with the brush I use to polish my black shoes maintains the brown-black balance that makes the Bourbon color. Great customer service at the McLean, VA store, where Steve helped me with the purchase.
