One of the best ways we've found to provide excellent customer service is by ensuring we reflect the communities we serve. Doing this well requires understanding the diverse needs of each person we serve and providing the kinds of products, services and experiences he or she wants.

Recognizing that diversity is vital to the success of our business, we launched our Supplier Diversity Program in 1989. Our program aims to recruit vendors from a wide range of business areas including merchandise, supplies and services, and construction. As we're continuing to grow, we're always interested in connecting with construction vendors who will provide building and remodel services for our Nordstrom stores.

Our primary goals when it comes to merchandise is to provide the latest fashions and uphold our commitment to quality, selection and value for our customers. Our merchandising teams are experts in their specific product areas and manage the purchasing process.

We look to our supplies and services vendors to help us meet our daily operation needs, whether creating an inviting experience for our customers or offering a solution to meet the specific needs of our business.

To participate in our Supplier Diversity Program, your company must be 51% owned, controlled and operated by U.S. citizens belonging to one or more of the following groups:

Companies must have verifiable certifications from state or local government entities or a qualified independent third-party certifying agency such as:
