Question: What methods of payment do you accept?

Answer: We accept the following:

Credit Cards:

Nordstrom Visa®, Nordstrom credit card, Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express and Discover Network.

Nordstrom Gift Cards:

To use online, enter the gift card number, along with the access number, on the Billing Information page in Checkout.

At this time we cannot accept cash, CODs, checks, money orders, or gift certificates for online purchases. If you would like to pay with a gift certificate please call us at 1-888-282-6060.

International Orders:

We accept Nordstrom Visa®, Visa and MasterCard for international orders. Nordstrom credit cards, Nordstrom Gift Cards and Nordstrom Notes are not accepted at this time. For full details, please visit our International Shopping page.

Question: How do I know if ordering online is secure?

Answer:

At Nordstrom.com, protecting your information is a priority.

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt your credit card number, name and address, so only Nordstrom.com is able to decode your information.

To be sure your connection is secure, look at the bottom status bar of your browser window. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser) the SSL is active and your information is secure. Most browsers offer additional security alerts, as well.

With regard to overall security, we always use industry standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving data exchanged with our site. The facilities that house our servers are physically secured to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of all data and information collected.

Question: Can you gift-wrap my order?

Answer: Yes.

When you are going through the Checkout process, you will be asked if an item is a gift.

We offer three options:
Nordstrom Gift Box - $5

Your item comes ready for the giving—boxed with tissue paper and a Nordstrom gift seal, topped with a bow and a blank gift tag for you to personalize. Or, if you prefer, we can also personalize the card for you with a handwritten message.

Nordstrom Gift Kit - $2

An easy-to-assemble Nordstrom gift box with tissue paper, Nordstrom gift seal, bow and a blank gift tag for you to personalize.

Gift Message - Free

Include a message of 8-12 words with your gift, free of charge. Limited to one complimentary gift message per shipping destination.

We are unable to provide gift box options for some shoe orders at this time.

Answer: Ordering from our site requires the use of an SSL-compliant browser. Question: Does my computer need to accept cookies to shop on Nordstrom.com?

Answer: Yes.

Our current technology platform requires that your browser be set to accept cookies to access certain features.

Cookies are small bits of information that are sent by a website to be stored in your web browser, so that the cookie can later be read back from your browser the next time you return to that website. The cookie is saved as a text file in the browser's directory and is stored in RAM while the browser is running. Question: How do I use my Gift Card online?

About Our Gift Card & e-Gift Card

Nordstrom Gift Cards and e-Gift Cards do not expire, have no fees and are redeemable at Nordstrom.com, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores. Simply present your Gift Card to any salesperson at the time of purchase. If your are purchasing online, your Gift Card must have an access code. Gift Cards may not be returned, applied as payment on any account or redeemed for cash, except where required by law. If lost, stolen or damaged, Gift Cards can be replaced for the remaining value with satisfactory proof of purchase. To verify the remaining balance, call 1.877.283.4045, inquire at any store register or check online.

Redeeming Nordstrom Notes®

Nordstrom Notes that are redeemable online will feature a Note number and an access code. These numbers are to be entered at the time of payment for your online order.

Nordstrom Notes without an access code can still be redeemed online by calling 1.888.282.6060, or at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store.

If you have a remaining value on your Nordstrom Note, please keep it to apply toward future purchases.

Redeeming an e-Gift Card

For online use, enter the e-Gift Card number and access code.

Nordstrom e-Gift Cards can also be printed and brought to any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store. Simply give the printout to any salesperson at the time of purchase.

Check Gift Card Balance

Question: When are Nordstrom's sale events?

Answer:

Nordstrom holds Half-Yearly Sales for Women and Kids in May and November. Also, there are Half-Yearly Sales for Men in mid-June and late December. Our biggest sale of the year—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—is held each July. This event has become legendary among Nordstrom customers nationwide who enjoy outstanding savings on the most exciting new fall merchandise before the season starts.

Question: How do I use a promotion code?

Answer:

We like to reward our customers with special promotional offers. Available promotions will be indicated on relevant pages of our website.

Promotion Types

Gifts with Purchase: Some of our most popular promotions are complimentary gifts with purchase. From cosmetics and fragrances to hats and golf balls. These promotions are typically associated with a specific brand, item or minimum order price. If shipping to multiple destinations, the gift will automatically ship to the billing address.

Buy More, Save More: This promotion allows our customers to receive a discount by purchasing two or more of one item or specified group of items. The discount will apply in the checkout process.

Employee Discount: Nordstrom employees may enter their employee numbers in the Promotion Code field during the checkout process.

Applying a Promotion

Promotion Code: You may qualify for a promotion that is associated with a specific code. Promotion codes will be available to you on the promotion or product details page. To retrieve your gift, enter the code in the Promotion Code field at the top of the Order Summary page during the checkout process. Click Apply Promo. Promotion codes are not case sensitive.

Automatic: Many promotions do not require a promotion code. The promotion will automatically be added to your order during the checkout process. You can see that the promotion has been added at the bottom of the Order Summary page under Complimentary Gifts.

Promotion Restrictions
Be sure to note the restrictions associated with a promotion. Promotions may be limited to purchases from participating brands, a specified group of items or minimum order price. All promotions are available for a limited time during indicated dates, and only while supplies last. Promotional offers do not apply to international orders.

Question: Does Nordstrom offer coupons?

Answer:

We do not offer Nordstrom coupons for sales or discounts. Any references to "Nordstrom Coupon," "Nordstrom Coupon Code" or "Nordstrom Discount Code" on other sites are not valid. We do offer promotions on selected items; learn more about Nordstrom promotions.

Question: Can I use my Nordstrom Notes online?

Answer: Yes, you can redeem Nordstrom Notes online by entering the note number and access code at the time of payment for your online order.

Question: Does Nordstrom.com participate in pop-up advertising?

Answer: No, Nordstrom.com does not participate in pop-up advertising. If you are seeing pop-up ads on your computer screen, it is most likely due to an Ad Ware program installed on your hard drive. Many of these programs are designed to install themselves with little to no warning while you browse shopping, coupon and music websites.

Question: Why is my item on backorder?

Answer:

Items that are not available to ship when an order is placed are on backorder and will ship at a later date. Please note that while your credit card will be authorized on the date your order is placed, you will not be charged until the item ships. We will provide you with an approximate ship date for your item(s) at the time you make your selection. Please be aware that backorder dates are approximate and subject to change. We will inform you by e-mail if this date changes.

Question: How can I contact Nordstrom about a potentially fraudulent website or e-mail?

Answer: Recently, there has been an increase in the number of websites and e-mails that try to lure customers into providing personal information. Often these e-mails or websites solicit charitable donations under the name of reputable companies or offer gift cards in return for information. Nordstrom does not solicit charitable donations in this way, sponsor these websites, nor are we affiliated with the site operators.
