About the Designer
Milliner-turned-couturier Jeanne Lanvin founded her namesake brand in 1889, but it wasn't until Moroccan-born designer Alber Elbaz took the helm in 2001 that the French fashion house came to its current fruition. Building on his experience at Laroche and Yves Saint Laurent, Elbaz reintroduced updated classics—little black dresses, tailored skirt suits and flowing evening gowns—back into the modern woman's wardrobe.
