The leather used for this Timberland shoe is very soft and extremely comfortable. I usually worry about blisters on my heels when buying dress shoes. No need to worry with these guys! They do run about a size big however, just a heads up! Very happy with this purchase!

Pricey but the comfort & style make it a worthwhile purchase.
Rated 2 out of 5 by jerejohn great looking shoe, but not for a wide foot
super soft leather with a weathered look makes for a great looking shoe. unfortunately, the leather is so soft, i felt my wide foot spilling over the sides. if you have a narrow foot, this should work out for you
Rated 1 out of 5 by forestwalker very disappointing over time
First the good: the leather is fantastic. Beautiful, and one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. And the negative heel--nearly impossible to find in a dress shoe--was a God-send for my back and posture. The first two months with this shoe were a joy.
However, while the upper is of wonderful quality, the shoe's sole has two irredeemable flaws:
First, despite appearances, the sole is not sealed. And it literally soaks up polish like a sponge. Not so bad on a brown pair, but on my black pair the look has grown increasingly worse over time. I'll acknowledge that's at least partly my and my shoe shine guy's negligence, though.
The far greater flaw is the sole's material, and that I lay solely on the manufacturer. It is VERY soft and easily damaged. The entire perimeter of my shoes' soles is visibly chewed up and the toe has several large chips and divots. Inexcusable.
This shoe is well reviewed so I'm an outlier here. This is Nordstrom's, after all. So if you're a fashionista leming with money to burn I can endorse this shoe for your needs. You'll look good and love wearing it for a few months. But if you came here like I did willing to spend a few hundred dollars for a quality shoe that will last a decade or so, this is not the shoe for you. I've had 80 dollar shoes from M**y's last twice as long as these have.
