Supporting Breast Cancer Research
For a number of years we have been honored to give back by supporting breast cancer research and education through our partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
Through our "Nordstrom Fits America" bra-fitting events, which take place at stores across the country in the spring and fall, we join forces with participating lingerie brands to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure's breast cancer awareness and education efforts. For every bra purchased the day of the event, $2 is donated to the local Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliate.In 2011, Nordstrom will contribute $200,000 to Komen for the Cure through Nordstrom Fits America and local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® sponsorships.
The right fit
During our Nordstrom Fits America events, customers can come in for a complimentary fitting from one of our certified fit specialists and shop our collection of beautiful bras in everything from basic styles to playful colors to imported lace. We also offer a full selection of mastectomy products and prosthesis bras.

Lingerie brands partnering with us during our Nordstrom Fits America events include Amoena, Betsey Johnson Intimates, Calvin Klein, Chantelle Intimates, DKNY, Donna Karan Intimates, Elle McPherson Intimates, Elomi, Fantasie, Felina, Freya, Le Mystere, Natori, On Gossamer, Panache, Simone Perele, SPANX® and Wacoal.
Helping to increase the survival rate
It is estimated that more than 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Since 1982, Komen has led the fight against this dreadful disease with a single-minded goal to eliminate it completely. To date, the organization has invested more than $1.9 billion in breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. It has helped drive the five-year survival rate (when caught early) to 98 percent (up from 74 percent in 1982) and has led to increased federal support of breast cancer research (to $900 million as compared to $30 million in 1982).
In 2011, Nordstrom is committed to making a minimum contribution of $200,000 to Komen through Nordstrom Fits America events and select local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® sponsorships.
