At Nordstrom, our people are our greatest asset; without their support we wouldn't be able to make progress in our social responsibility goals. Our employees are at the heart of our efforts and are helping us make a positive difference across our company and in the world around us.
Because so many of our employees are on the front lines in our stores and serve our customers each day, they have the opportunity to bring forward great ideas that come about from their everyday work. We see each employee as running his or her own business within our four walls. As a group, they are our most valuable resource, and we are committed to supporting their success. We listen to their suggestions and support them to help bring their ideas to fruition. Several Nordstrom employees have planted the seeds for change and these have led to significant, positive impacts for the environment and the communities we serve.
Nordstrom Cares Heroes highlights those employees who have taken initiative to identify and come forward with opportunities to help create positive change. Their ideas and efforts span many stores and regions. They range from finding ways to become more environmentally conscientious within our store operations to helping support and make a difference in the neighborhoods that support us.
Any Nordstrom employee can become a Nordstrom Cares Hero, and we look forward to sharing our people's stories, creative thinking and more about what they're contributing to our social responsibility program. Whether it's spotting new ways to help lessen our impact on the environment or getting involved in the communities we serve, our employees are integral to everything we do.
