As a company, we're always on the lookout for opportunities to partner with businesses that can help us better serve our customers. Thanks to our Supplier Diversity Program, we're able to connect with diverse- and minority-owned businesses that might not otherwise think of working with Nordstrom. Since we launched the program in 1989, we've spent more than $14 billion with hundreds of diverse-owned businesses, including Graphix 2 Go.
 
Graphix 2 Go has grown significantly since being founded in a garage as an embroidery/screenprint shop back in 1998. Today, they work with companies both small and large across the country to create unique, branded promotional items for just about any occasion. In 2004, Denise Jones and Kim Harrington, the founders and owners of Graphix 2 Go, decided to begin the process of applying to have the company officially certified as a women-owned business with the WBENC (Women's Business Enterprise National Council). Around that same time, Denise and Kim (who married in 2013) decided to also have Graphix 2 Go certified by the NGLCC (National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) as an LGBT-owned company. Both certifications helped to level the playing field, giving them the opportunity to become more competitive and work with companies they hadn't been able to reach in the past. "It was nice to be invited to the table," said Denise. "Getting these certifications opened doors to jobs and bids with companies that I'm not sure would have been opened otherwise."
 
Those certifications are what eventually brought Graphix 2 Go to Nordstrom and our Supplier Diversity Program. For the past two years, Graphix 2 Go has provided us with Nordstrom-branded T-shirts, sunglasses, bracelets and necklaces that our employees can wear and distribute at community events, like local Pride parades. "Our relationship with Nordstrom has always been a win-win," said Amy Howard, Graphix 2 Go sales manager and head of the Nordstrom account, "The business is great for us, we love how Nordstrom treats us, and we love being able to work on jobs and for causes that we are passionate about."
