THE NUFACE® RESULTS
What type of results will I see using NuFace?
Increased firmness, plumping and lifting of skin and facial muscles. A reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. With prolonged use: tighter, thicker skin, a more defined jaw line and cheekbones, lifted eyebrows, wider eyes and reduced or eliminated jowls and nasolabial folds.
How quickly will I see results?
Immediately. Lift half of your face and do a comparison of each side. Results are cumulative and optimal with consistent use.
THE NUFACE TREATMENT
How many times a week should I use my NuFace at home?
Within the first 90 days, use NuFace at least five times per week. Then, use NuFace at least two to three times per week to maintain results.
When should I use NuFace?
Morning or night, whenever is most convenient for you.
Where can I use NuFace?
In the U.S., NuFace can only be used on your face.
How do I use NuFace?
Apply Derma-Gel (the conductivity solution) on clean, dry skin. Lift and tone with NuFace. Basic technique: Simply glide the NuFace probes over your face. Advanced technique: For optimal results and to address areas of concern, hold the probes in a stationary position for 5 seconds. This technique targets sagging muscles, fine lines and wrinkles by directly delivering the microcurrent pulses.
How much time does the NuFace treatment take?
The NuFace treatment takes five or more minutes, depending upon which technique you use.
Can I lift my face more than once a day?
Because your muscles need rest time, no more than one treatment per 24-hour period is recommended.
THE NUFACE TECHNIQUE
How much current will I feel?
Microcurrent is a low level of current that soothes and relaxes. A slight tingling may be felt in certain areas and is a normal sensation. Facial sensitivity varies from individual to individual, but you can lower or raise the intensity during any segment of the treatment.
How much Derma-Gel should be applied to my face?
A thin layer of Derma-Gel should be applied to the skin, allowing the current to be transferred directly to the muscles without pulling the skin. Do NOT allow the Derma-Gel to dry while using NuFace. Keep the Derma-Gel moist during treatment by spraying the Optimizing Mist on your face.
Why do I have to stay out of the mouth and eye areas?
The mouth and eye area are circular muscles and need to be treated in accordance with the muscle direction. Microcurrent does travel so improvement will be seen around the mouth and eyes.
How fast should I glide the NuFace device?
Take your time with the NuFace treatment—each step should roughly be a slow 5-second count.
Can the NuFace device be used while wearing makeup?
No. Your skin should be clean and dry, so remove all makeup and moisturizers prior to treatment.
Can the NuFace device be used with a skincare product?
Yes. A skincare serum (with the exception of Vitamin A) can be applied to your clean, dry skin before the Derma-Gel. The microcurrent will penetrate the serum deeper. Derma-Gel is the only recommended conductivity solution.
THE MICROCURRENT TECHNOLOGY
Is microcurrent technology the same as galvanic technology?
No. Microcurrent technology works to stimulate and tone the facial muscles, and is also known to increase collagen, elastin, circulation, product penetration, and the ATP coenzyme, which is responsible for sustaining cellular function. Galvanic technology only penetrates product deeper and delivers no benefits to the muscles.
Since NuFace does not contract the muscles, how does it tone them?
Microcurrent increases collagen and muscle tone by speeding up the rate at which the body produces its own muscle proteins and fibroblasts. Research has shown that results of microcurrent are not only dramatic, but long-lasting, creating the ideal corrective and preventive anti-aging treatment.
Does the NuFace device contract the facial muscles?
No. The NuFace device utilizes microcurrent that gently stimulates the facial muscles for long-term strength and toning. Stronger (muscle contracting) currents can cause the facial muscles to atrophy.
ABOUT MY NUFACE
What is included with the NuFace device?
The NuFace kit includes: the NuFace device, Derma-Gel, Optimizing Mist, an instructional DVD, a user manual, an alkaline 9-volt battery (inserted) and a one-year warranty. An additional extended two-year warranty is available from the manufacturer.
Who created NuFace?
NuFace was created by Carol Cole, a licensed aesthetician specializing in professional microcurrent treatments since 1985. Carol, a baby boomer, sought to create an easy-to-use, effective handheld device that she and her clients could use at home.
Is the NuFace device tested by skincare professionals?
Yes, NuFace is being recommended by skincare professionals, including dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and aestheticians, for homecare facial toning and to complement in-office treatments.
If I am planning cosmetic surgery, can I use the NuFace device?
Yes. But most importantly consult your surgeon first. Use NuFace pre-surgery to increase muscle tone and post-surgery to reduce puffiness and maintain the results of your cosmetic procedure. The NuFace device may be used in conjunction with other facial treatments and injectables.
Can I use the NuFace device if I have rosacea, acne, broken capillaries, implants or skin cancer?
NuFace can be performed on rosacea, acne and broken capillaries, although we recommend lowering the intensity of the NuFace to avoid sensitivity. NuFace can also be used with dental, metal, cheek or chin implants. However, NuFace should NOT be used if you have skin or any other type of cancer, are pregnant, subject to seizures, have a pacemaker or any electronic implanted devices. Consult your physician if you still aren't sure if you should use NuFace.
