ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Oscar de la Renta was born in 1932 in the Dominican Republic, a place that continues to inspire his contemporary designs. After studying under Cristóbal Balenciaga, and Antonio Castillo at Lanvin, he launched his ready-to-wear label in 1965. From then on, de la Renta says, his goal has remained the same: "to make a woman look her best and to capture the essence of femininity."
