Of the eye palettes I tried: Chanel, YSL, Dior, Guerlain, Chanel was the best.

Pros:
1) formulation and texture - so finely milled that it's almost creamy to the feel, yet is a powder;
2) color - neither too shimmery nor matte, more of like a "glow" effect. (One needs a little tiny bit of shine for dimension but I found that the other brands I've tried [mentioned above] tend to be too shimmery);
3) pigmentation - very richly pigmented, you don't need a lot to achieve the color desired;
4) well-coordinated - colors go well together, depending on the application, can go from light (for day) to deeper (for night);
5) long-lasting - I apply in the morning and colors stay put until evening without any running or smudging and no irritation.

Cons: I do have to agree with other reviewers who are disappointed with the swatches online. You really need to try it on in-store to get the right colors.

Overall, I am happy with these palettes and have purchased the Kaskia beige and Nymphea.

Of the hundreds of eye shadows I have bought over the years, this is really the best. Put it on - it stays on! No eye irritation, which for me is really great. very easy to use too. A little for daytime and you can intensify the look for night. I am very fair and don't find the gray/black pallet to be overpowering.

I purchased this palette in Prelude. The colors are absolutely lovely neutrals - sort of taupey/mauvey and perfect for my blue-green eyes. The pigmentation is very good, as is the blendability and staying power. Chanel makeup is expensive, but worth the splurge!

I've been trying to find my niche in a makeup look/line for a very long time and I've finally found it. This eye palette in "Prelude" is beautiful and natural. When I say natural I don't mean brown/boring---but clean, crisp, and pretty. Can be work lightly for a natural, beauty enhancing look or smoked out with the pretty brownish-mauve (darkest color).
I've tried every expensive line of makeup...looking for an eye palette that wasn't too brown/gold or dark. This is perfect!
Matched it up with Dior's blush in Vintage Pink 839 and Angelique Beige 314. This looks amazing! I first tried using Dior's eyeshadow in Argentic (makeup look featured on Kristin Stewart) but was seriously allergic to it. The sparkles from the eyeshadow worked their way into my eyes and it was painful---especially wearing contacts.
This is a perfect eye palette!
