Eileen Fisher Straight Leg Stretch Jeans
I am a big fan of EF's ponte knit trousers, but up until now I have been disappointed in the fit of EF jeans. These jeans have changed my mind -- they fit like they were made for me. The fabric is very thin, however, and the length is just long enough for me to wear them with flats. So these are going to be treated carefully in the laundry. Unlike most EF clothing, these run just slightly larger than true-to-size. I take a small in most EF trousers, but an 8 in most clothing. I ordered these in 8 and they are just right.
They don't fit
I can't understand what has happened to jeans. I thought Eileen Fisher's would be different. (Usually her clothes fit me perfectly, which makes them worth the high price). I knew I wanted straight cut, and I have been looking for black jeans for a long time. So I ordered these jeans in two sizes and thought finally I'd get what I've been looking for.
But no -- even the ones that fit me perfectly around the hips and thighs left a 3 to 4 inch gap sticking out in back!
The problem is not that they're too big (although that's the only choice I'm given here). It's the cut. It makes no sense. I can't imagine who could wear these. I am majorly disappointed. I guess I'll try JC Penney or LLBean, but chances are they'll have the same huge problem.
These jeans rurn large -- I got one size down, and they're perfect. They are a slim fit but not super-skinny; length is generous. The black indigo is not solid black but a very dark jean in black rather than blue.
Eileen Fisher makes excellent premium denim for every figure type, and these are no exception. Great fit, flattering, excellent quality, and just the right leg for someone like me who is fuller through the hips and thighs, and who looks terrible in ultra skinny jeans.
