Frye 'Carson' Ballet Flat
What a MESS
I cannot possibly be the only one that has had this issue. These, because of how soft the leather is, stretch so much, and lose all stucture, especially in the heel. I sized wayyyy down, to the point where they were much too tight for the first couple wears, but then became perfect. After maybe a week or so of perfect shoe bliss, the heels on these started to sag. And they never stopped. Now these shoes are a floppy, saggy mess, that cover about a quarter inch of my heel, which makes keeping them on impossible. These shoes are far too expensive to turn to mush after a couple weeks.
I bought these flats in green and I love them! I'd never tried any Frye shoes, but the size is perfect and they fit like a glove. The leather is soft so I didn't get blisters when I first wore them and they are very comfy. Just to let you know, they may be a bit slippery at first until the sole gets scratched a bit, and also the color of the leather might rub off on your feet (so avoid using good nylons and tights while breaking them in).
In addition to the buttery soft upper, these shoes have a high quality leather insole. The first pair I bought has stretched out a bit, but I rather like that. They are super comfortable! I have now bought three additional pairs in different colors. I think I'm addicted. The second pair I bought seems a tad smaller than the first pair, so I'm glad I didn't size down. There is not much cushioning in this shoe, but I still love them for their classic slim style. When I feel like I need arch support I put in a pair of my "Dr. Scholls FOR HER Hidden Arch Supports" and they do the trick. Carson ballet flats are a bit slippery at first, but I think that resolves once you've worn the shoes and roughed up the surfaces of the soles a little.
Super Cute!! Normally a 9 - 10 in flats ordered a 9 1/2 and they fit perfect just a tad snug the first day but broke in perfectly. Def will be ordering other colors. The black go great with everything!
