Frye 'Engineer 12R' Boot
not in love
I thought these would be my everyday, go-to shoes, but saddly I've only tried to wear these just a handful of times in the two years I've owned them. The look and quality is there, but it's just too clunky and unflattering on this 5'3 shorty with size 5 feet. I cant get over how awkward and ugly I actually feel when trying to rock these heavy boots. Also, I haven't read anyone else mention this, but the dye from the inner shaft of the boot rubbed off onto the bottom of my jeans, permanently staining them black. Since then, I've been afraid to wear them with other jeans. Anyone else have that problem??
Break them in first!
Finally found an American made product to rave about! Don't be impatient - break them in (may take many short intervals of use) and your feet will thank you. Well made, simple and classic design that should last forever.
Only took 10 min at the most for the leather boot to mold to my foot. Never had any problems. I am using the boots as work boots not fashion and they will work well and are more comfortable than the other boots I have looked at. The price is right too. I also love that they are American Made.
I had been wanting these boots for such a long time, and when I finally saved enough money, I was not skeptical at all about ordering. I purchased them in black and I love them so much! They add a very cool tough vibe to any outfit. Also, many celebs were them often. I have only worn them about 3 times now and you definitely have to spread out the times that you wear them when you first get them because they chaffe on your shins and give you terrible blisters on your heels, so I cant wait until they are broken in because I am going to wear them all the time! The quality of this boot is what definitely makes them worth every penny. The leather is very tough and the sole on the bottom is going to last forever. Just beware of the first few times you put them on, you will probably break a sweat!
