Frye 'Lindsay Plate' Boot
After much contemplation, I finally decided to spend the money on these boots. They're great quality leather, a good color, and very comfortable. I'm a pretty true 6.5, and I would say these are a little bit on the larger side, but good with socks. The only thing keeping me from giving these boots 5 stars is two things: I have average sized calves and these were pretty large in the calves. I also have a very high arch, which makes these boots extremely difficult to slip on. I'm taking them to a cobbler to have them stretched over the arch. Other than that, i'm loving them!
I got this boot in the burnt Red Leather because I wanted something that would go with everything in my wardrobe. This is a terrific boot: perfect fit everywhere, with room in the calves for jeans. Craftsmanship is excellent and I highly recommend this boot!
awesome, versatile boot
i am ridiculously picky with footwear. i've worked for various luxury goods companies and received clothing allowances at them all. so for me to pay full price for anything is saying A LOT. i have not found a riding style boot i have liked in years. this boot is perfectly loose around the calf. it can be worn in the summer or winter. over jeans, leggings, with daytime work dresses, shirt dresses on the weekends, anything and everything. i am crazy for this boot. i am a solid size 9 but i bought a 8.5. the 9 was too long and full in the toe.
Beautiful, but tricky around the calves
Beautiful leather, the dark brown color is exactly what you see in the picture and the boot has such a classic look (with cute details like the tab on the heel) that I know I will keep these forever. It is true to size, but warning around the calves. It's a bit tight, but can be stretched. I have average sized calves and I can still wear these with leggings, but it will be tight with skinny jeans.
