Giorgio Armani 'Lasting Silk' UV Foundation SPF 20
I have a combination skin, oily T zone by mid-day and some dry areas. While I really like this foundation, it doesnt stay matte 14hrs. The foundation stays on well but I still have to blot or powder or refresh my make-up during the day/afternoon.
The colors are fabulous. It really makes my skin look luminous and enhances my skin tone for better. I ordered 5.5 and it was perfect for me. It has a hint of yellow which helps to offset the natural redness in my skin. Because the foundation provides light/medium coverage, I think the colors are pretty forgiving.
Perfecting the application took me a few trial runs. A good short bristle foundation brush is a must and when they say that a little goes a long way, believe it! Starting w/ too much just creates a mess.
Overall...I like it but it's not my "holy grail" as it doesn't stay matte for me for 14hrs.
I love the Natural Beige (5.5). It gives me a perfect coverage (better then any other foundation I've tried, with a matt finish, and lasts all day. Normally I would NOT spend this kind of money on make-up, but after seeing the reviews on this, I've let myself be suckered in, and have to agree, it IS what I expect in a foundation make-up. Since a little goes a long way, and the coverage is better then actually having to use a cover stick along with the regular foundations, so I literally have a 2-in-1 kind of foundation, which at the end, saves me from buy each separately.....at least that is what I am trying to convince myself with right now. :-) No really, this foundation is by far the best I've ever used. I will not try the other shades to see if there is any better in shade, because I was lucky to find the shade I was looking forward that goes great with my tan mineral powder. I do the cheeks like blush, and then the rest on forehead, nose & chin for the sun kissed effect.
High end but worth every $$$
I tried enough foundations: Chanel Aqualumiere [B40], Chanel Perfection Lumiere, Dior Forever , Hourglass, Shiseido [I 4], YSL Liberator etc.
Finally, my current fave is Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk 5.75. Glides on so silky [use foundation brush], lasts all day with touch-up powder once/day. It is water-based [prefer to oil base]. No reaction noted for my sensitive skin and no oxidation [use Smashbox primer].
Feels comfortable and coverage is beautiful.
LOVE THIS FOUNDATION
THIS FOUNDATION IS GREAT---MAKES MY SKIN LOOK SO NATURAL---I HAVE USED THIS FOR MANY YEARS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO
