Guerlain 'Lingerie de Peau' Invisible Skin-Fusion Foundation
Color match, yes. Coverage, no.
This was a perfect color match for me, hence the two stars. However, it gave almost no coverage at all and wasn't buildable. Last of all, it emphasized every dry patch and crease and looked like a mask on my skin. I tried applying it with my fingers, a Beauty Blender sponge, and a foundation brush. Same result on all three. When I read these glowing reviews, I feel like I must have been using a different product, but no, it's the same one. I feel duped.
I love this foundation!! it goes on smoothly, is very lightweight, and makes my skin appear flawless. It is incredibly moisturizing as well.
This is the first foundation that I have truly loved. I was up in SF for the anniversary sale, and someone on the beauty team helped me out with a consultation. I have used so many foundations in the past and haven't had great success. I always found that I had to use so many products to achieve the look that I wanted and to cover up blemishes and my red cheeks. This foundation somehow manages to do all of this, which is astounding to me because it is so light and leaves my skin with a silky finish! The only other products I have to use with this is some concealer for under my eyes and a setting powder. No more caking on products to cover up--I've FINALLY found my perfect foundation!
It's a little pricey, but it lasts me months. I only have to use three dabs of foundation and I smooth it on with a brush and I'm good to go! Definitely worth the investment.
Tip: have someone try this on you before purchasing because it looked a lot different in the bottle than it looked on my skin. I would have ended up picking the complete wrong shade if I hadn't tried it first.
A non-foundation foundation
This stuff is the best. I had previously been using Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation and Chanel Vitalumiere aqua, both of which I love. However, when I tried this, I loved it even more. I put it on and said to my husband, "Look, it's like my skin!" and he said, "What's your skin??" I took that as a resounding endorsement - he couldn't tell I was wearing makeup. The coverage is medium while still looking natural, and the finish is flawless, not too oily but not too matte. I like mixing it with a little primer to add a little glow. The one downside - I'm right between shades 01 and 02 (I'm very fair but not porcelain), so I have to mix them. In the summer though, I'm sure the 02 will be perfect.
