Jessica Simpson Strapless Print Maxi Dress
This dress is very, very pretty. It's light and airy and looks great on all figure types. It's a very forgiving fit with the elasticized back and is very flattering on. We ordered 5 of them for bridesmaids dresses from size 2 to 10 and the dress looks great on everyone. We wanted something everyone could wear again and these are perfect!
The dress can be worn strapless or with the little halter strap it comes with.
Cute dress but makes you look pregnant
I loved this dress on the hanger. I love the pattern and fabric. I gave it only 2 stars, and had to return it, because there is a weird piece of fabric that hangs down the entire front of the dress-- it comes out of the boob area and then just hangs down the rest of the dress-- and makes you look pregnant. Maybe if they had stiched this in at the waist it would have been ok.
Nice drape...colors too intense, loud
Wanted desparately to love this dress! I'd say it fits on the larger end of TTS (a good thing for those of us with curves), and the smocking in back helps customize the fit. Fabric felt soft and draped nicely, but was just WAAAAAAY brighter/louder than I imagined. No fault of Nordstrom's; images did the best possible job of representing the dress, I'm a graphic designer, and even with a very well calibrated screen there's just no way to know for certain how complicated colors/shades/patterns will look in real life. In truth, the two of Nordstrom's three images for this item which haven't been edited with stylistic filters come closest to representing the look of the gown. Certain other nat'l dept store websites made the base color look more like something between ivory and mint, and the pattern more subtle...more like what I was hoping for - I just wish the designers over at JS would take the stylized (i.e. hyper-bright) image currently on this product page as inspiration for what the dress (IMHO) should have looked like.
Still recommend it, lovely gown, just picture the pattern brighter/more intense than it appears, and the base color closer to turqoise than light mint, and if you still want it, go for it!
