Kiehl's Since 1851 'Creme de Corps' Nurturing Body Washing Cream
Many manufacturers of fine products are making the switch to lower foaming cream type products. The reasons for this are for skin sensitivity and pollution to waterways. A cream product will always have a lower suds level and creamier feel than a wash, which is usually more sudsy. This does not mean that one product is better than the other.
Not Sure If I'm Totally Sold
I love the Creme de Corps body lotion - regular and lightweight, so I thought I'd give it a try. Still not sure how I feel about it. For over 10 years I've used Kiehls' fabulous grapefruit body wash in the shower and bath and I love the silky, non-drying foam it makes. The creme de corps body cleansing cream however, seems to be low foaming, so that bugs me a little. It's like the consistency of lotion, it has a little bit of lather but no foam, so I dunno. I came out of the shower feeling clean, but not sure I'm sold on a body lotion that doesn't foam up when I'm in the shower.
I would like to start by saying that i was looking for a replacement for the Kiehl's Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion with Aloe Vera & Oatmeal which they have discontinued in unscented. I use the Pour Homme version which is great but I wanted an unscented lotion for when I wear cologne. So of course my review is a bit biased.
So I called Kiehl's and the lady said this was the same weight as the lotion I was using. It turned out to be a little thicker which in turn made my skin too oily and I was very uncomfortable (I basically felt hot after I put my clothes on and it took forever for it to absorb into my skin if it did completely.)
I wouldn't recommend this for the guys because men's skin doesn't tend to get dry (at least on the body). Probably good for those with very dry skin.
Another winner from Kiehl's! In the dry days of winter when skin stings from the cold and dry air, this is an indispensible addition to your daily shower/bath routime. You can feel it calming sensitive skin. Great- no fragrance or slimey residue. Just softness and hydration that lasts....
