Lucky Brand 'Ginger' Straight Denim Jeans (Plus)
LOVE LOVE LOVE
Can you tell I’m loving these jeans? I wear the regular misses size in a 16 but they’re a bit lower in the rise than I like so I tried these in a 14W and they were perfect. If you can even find a designer jean in a plus size, the material tends to be a bit cheaper and they’re always shorter (which I hate). I’m 5 foot 9 and get tired of plus size makers assuming that the bigger you are, the shorter you are! Just make ‘em longer and we’ll hem as necessary! These are definitely longer and they are more skinny than straight. The good news is that you can roll them up with a cuff and they’re still totally in style. Or take them to your dry cleaner and spend $10 to hem them. Totally worth it. I don’t agree that these fit like jeggings but if you have bigger legs, you may opt for the boot cut style. I love that they’re a bit higher in the back so my underwear don’t hang out. I really love these and have already gone back for another pair. They’re awesome!
I wore my new Lucky's today, and I actually now know what sausage must feel like. Snug and in a tight little casing... These pants definitely fit tighter with little stretch (regardless of the "super stretchy" tag on the jeans). In NYDJ I wear a 14, and they are loose. But in these pants, I wear the 16. I am more apple shaped with smaller hips and somewhat toned/muscular legs, so they work for me. But I could see where a more pear shaped woman might need to buy up a couple of sizes. I joke about the snugness of the jeans, but so often I find that straight/skinnies stretch too much. I doubt I'll be able to eat a cookie and not feel it in these pants. In fact i might lose a few pounds by wearing these. Definitely not "thanksgiving" pants....So, I'm happy with my purchase.
Finally Lucky Brand came out with jeans I can wear. I loved these so much I purchased two pairs. Fit like a dream. I did not have a problem with the legs like the other lady. Perfect fit.
More of a skinny than a straight leg
I ordered these in a size 20. My measurements are 40-40-51. In my opinion these are not straight leg jeans. These are more close to skinnies, but not as tight at the ankle. I have a couple pairs of straight leg jeans and they are not cut like this. The quality of denim and the color are great, but they fit too tight in the thigh and leg. I'm exchanging them for a 22, but I'm concerned that the 22 will be too tight as well. Also, they are long. Bummed about this because they look so good on the model (as always).
