Magnanni 'Santiago' Cap Toe Oxford
'Santiago' Cap Toe Oxford
I bought a pair on-line and I found the pair that was sent to me, to contain three blemishes in the leather. One was a light circular spot, another was a dark circular spot where a drop of leather stain had dropped and was not cleaned off, and a half inch slight scuff mark. These were on the leather upper.
The leather sole had a slight chip on the heel.
These are not natural aberrations like that of ostrich leather.
I think Nordstrom should inspect the products being sent out properly (or indeed being received from the manufacturer and suppliers)
Straightforward, Beautiful Oxford
First off, Nordstrom's sizing advice is right on - they do run large. I was just about perfect in ordering 1/2 a size down. I ordered another Magnianni at the same time, and it ran true to size, so beware.
Just gorgeous shoes, and seemingly well made. They do require some relatively painful break-in. I noted in another review that you're really getting more of an old-style Italian kind of shoe, not the sneakers-in-disguise that are so common now.
The shoe is beautiful, and a bit more to my tastes with a cap toe instead of a wing. Will wear these to work for years and years.
these shoes are some of the best i have ever owned. even at a young age i favored dressier shoes when possible. these shoes are dynamic. you can wear them with anything from jeans to a suit. the brown ones are more stylish than the black ones because they have a kind of antiqued look to them. I went to the store looking for something stylish and was pretty confident when i walked out with these, that i had accomplished the mission. i was right. i wear the brown ones to work and out and i have gotten no fewer than 10 compliments, from different people, all independent from each other. one was the sales person at the gucci store on madison avenue who said 'wow, where did you get those?'- when i went in looking for a wallet. the description is absolutely right, they run LARGE. since i had the benefit of trying them on in the store let me just say that in sneakers i wear a size 10 or 10 and a half, and my Magnanni shoes are a size 9! they take one or two days to break in, they are stiff. but after that, they are comfortable and if you dont mind lace ups, highly recommended!
Stylish, without breaking the bank!
I purchased these shoes in the Spring of 2012 as a replacement for a pair of Bruno Magli's that I've had since 2007 and, unfortunately, have NOT take the best care of. I was looking at the To Boot Brand that has a shoe similiar to this style that is about $100 more.
I tried both shoes and found the Magnanni Cap Toe to be an excellent choice! Very confortable, great quality and extremely sexy shoe. I receive quite a few compliments everything I wear them. I'm considering the adding the Magnanni Wingtip to my collection as well. Great shoe. Highly recommend!
