Naot 'Kirei' Mary Jane
Runs 1/2 size small but very comfy
I really like this shoe, saw it on someone else and just had to have it. Nordstrom had it online so I snapped it up. I'm a size 10 1/2 usually but ordered an 11 since they don't make a 10 1/2. So glad I ordered it because it fits great and is really the same size as several of my 10 1/2's This is a very comfortable shoe.
Love this shoe. My high heel days are over due to neck and spine surgery. These shoes are perfect for what I'm looking for in an every day shoe. Looks fashionable and so comfortable. Wore them right out of the box, no breaking in. Wear a 6 1/2 and ordered the 38. Can wear a thin sock if I want to. My first pair of Naot's but not my last.
This shoe is very cute and very comfortable. It can be worn in a somewhat dressy situation as well as with jeans. I have what is called a "low volume" foot. Many shoes fall off my feet and Mary Jane's usually have straps that are way too big. This strap has enough adjustment so that it fits my foot snugly.
Noat's are terrific. The insole molds to your foot so it is like having a custom insole. It has great arch support.
The Naot 'Kirei' Mary Jane is truly an adorable shoe. I so wanted to own it, and was sad to have to return it. There are many terrific things about the Kirei, which I'll highlight below. But because my ankle has been quirky lately I have to pick shoes that support my ankle, and this shoe just didn't.
I'd read multiple reviews of Naot's Kirei and figured it was worth a shot. After all, people who wear orthotics wear this shoe. But I found that when I tried to replace the Naot insert with a Spenco insert and my orthotics, the shoe simply wasn't as strong nor did it fit as well. A tad loose.
With the Naot insert, my 4.5 W foot (I wear a 5) w/bunions was happy as a clam. Perfect fit, in fact. Adorable shoe, as already stated. I could picture myself wearing these in all seasons, with pants and skirts. A friend wore these in Spain, so I figured they'd be good for travelling. Which is probably true.
The strap is a tiny bit long because I had a nearly flat foot. But Nordstrom could shorten that strap if that became a problem.
The deciding factor for me, though, was the ankle support. I wore the shoes around the house for a bit, and although they are comfortable as can be, the support simply isn't there for me.
Thank you, Nordstrom, for carrying size 5s (not everyone does) and for being so gracious about returns. You've been my go-to shoe shop since I was a baby, and that was eons ago. Many thanks, and I'll be back!
