Nordstrom Sheer Thigh High Nylons (3 for $30)
tight band across the top
These are perfect for what they are (affordable, thigh-high stockings) but the elastic bands are a big tight. Yes, if I had perfectly toned and tight muscular thighs, this'd be no problem, but I do have other pairs of thigh-highs that don't dig in quite as much. I also got them from Nordy's. They were just the higher end versions than the Nordstrom brand.
For reference, I'm 5"8" and 135 lbs with pretty muscular thighs (though just enough fat to make it worthwhile to spring for the more expensive thigh highs from now on).
Wave of the future
These are truly a revolution in hosiery. They are so comfortable, they don't slide down, they don't have any "seam" to show when you wear tighter jersey clothing, they are just excellent. I have worn the black ones twice and intend to gently hand launder and rack dry them. I don't forsee laundering being a problem. An important note: the reason I switched to this type of hosiery is because I have been plagued with UTIs since my late 40's. This was one of the recommendations - ditch the pantyhose. So far, so good. And I have ALWAYS appreciated the quality of Nordstrom hosiery. It is top-notch. When I worked, I ordered them a case at a time.
I ordered these in light beige but I found out too late ( the night I needed them) that they were too light. I had no choice but to wear them. They weren't uncomfortable but I can't say they fit well either. Too tight in the upper thigh leaving a bulge but at least I could cover that with the shaper I wore. Next time I buy hose I think I need to see the color in person and not rely on the internet.
WHAT A FIND!
Sheer, nude thigh highs that actually fit and are this inexpensive are so hard to find. Glad I checked the Nordstrom's site. Good buy.
