felt like grace kelly I bought this for my daughters wedding. I am a relatively young mother of the bride. 45 and it works elegant, yet young enough to wear to a wedding and in the future for formal occasions. It would work for all age groups really minimal accessories needed and very comfortable which is a plus since I will wearing it all day and into the evening. It is not heavy really even with beading. The color is blush with a hint of pink. I am pale so the summer coloring will make this work for me. I am not a tiny girl but not huge either and the dress fits well and look great on. Overall I love the dress and very excited to wear it to my daughters wedding. 4/29/13

Gorgeous cocktail dress I have been wanting to order this dress for some time, and was waiting for Nordstrom to stock it in one of the darker colors in my size, as I did not feel that the blush color would be flattering for me. I was fortunate to obtain it in the cobalt color; my first comment is that, consistent with the Nordstrom response to my question (see questions on this site), the color actually is a lovely shade of navy. I'm not sure why Patra has called the color cobalt, but it definitely is navy, with tone on tone sequins, so the color and sparkle are quite subtle and a change from the typical (though lovely!) little black dress. Secondly, I agree that you should probably order a size down, or at least order a size down if you are between sizes. I am usually a 10 or 12, sometimes closer to the 12, but in this case the 10 fit me perfectly. The top is quite roomy (and I am not small busted) but the bottom is more fitter and straight, so I can imagine that the hip area could be narrow for some (I'm not really small there either, though, and it was fine on me) so it might be wise to try on two sizes. I ordered a 10 in cobalt (really navy) and a 12 in black (no navy available) and I am going to keep the 10, so some lucky woman will soon be able to order the black in size 12! I was concerned about whether the dress would be high waisted, which is often a problem for me lately, but I am happy to report that the waist falls exactly where it should. It's nice to have the waist elasticized, though, for a custom fit. You probably don't want to order this dress in a higher size than necessary, both because of the weight (not uncomfortable at all, just lots of sequins) and the generous amount of fabric on the top. The underlay fabric is a bit stretchy, which probably helps with the fit. Unlike one reviewer, I did not see any sequins falling off, any unevenness in the hem, or any sign of poor quality. To the contrary, I frankly cannot believe that this dress is only $198. Last year, I had to buy 4 formal dresses for different events, and I must have purchased 18 dresses before finding the right ones; many of those dresses were $350+, and were lesser quality in workmanship and fabric than this dress. I am very impressed with this brand! It's nice to have "sleeves," too--so many formal dresses are sleeveless! The caftan style can be worn any time of year, so this is a very versatile dress. The sequins have a silvery sheen, so I would suggest either navy or silver/gunmetal accessories (shoes and bag), with a minimum amount of jewelry. The bottom section of the sleeves is open, revealing the underlay fabric, which probably adds to the comfort and certainly does not detract from its attractiveness. This would be a great dress to wear to a wedding (whether as mother of a principal or not!), cocktail party or other formal event. Should be very comfortable for dancing, too. I am thrilled with this dress and cannot believe that it was finally available in my size! 1/11/13
