PIKOLINOS 'Le Mans II' Boot
I purchased 4 pair of Pikolino boots and love all of them.
Tis boot has an extremely interesting footbed which feels like memory foam. I can't wait to wear it. I have a narrow foot and usually wear a 9-9.5 in most shoes and purchased a 41 which fits nice and leaves me room for a thick sock to wear extending above the boot.
I am pleasantly surprised with this brand for I have tried countless brands and almost gave up. They are of great quality.
European Style and Comfort, Goes with Everything
I purchased the "grey" colored boot, although they are more of a cross between brown and grey - it's a great fit for me because it goes with both brown and black attire. Love the heel size - tall enough for the boost I like, and sturdy and comfortable to walk long and far and still have happy feet. Like a previous reviewer, I am pretty loyal to Paul Green, Aquatalia, and Born for shoe wear as they provide comfort, classic style, versatility, and many years of durability, and I am now happily adding Pikolinos to my list. I typically wear a U.S. size 8.5 exactly, so I usually prefer to order EU size 38.5 if it is available. Since this brand and style didn't carry half sizes, I liked it enough to chance it, and ordered the EU size 39 - it was a perfect fit for me, and can accommodate any thickness of socks. I wear them with pants tucked it or scrunched around the top. One of my favorite and most comfortable and versatile pair of boots I've ever worn, highly recommend!
I have been searching for a boot just like this...not quite western, not quite biker boot but something to wear with everything this fall. Please note I am extremely picky when it comes to shoes/boots and have a hard time with fit and comfort. I also in between a size 8 and 8.5. I went with an 8 in these as I do not plan to wear thick socks.
Ordered these in the grey, which is beautiful. Straight leg jeans fit comfortably over the shaft of the boot and of course skinnys tuck in. My favorite part of these is that the circumference of the shaft does not stick out too far (I hate when a legging or jean tucked in gives me a stick-leg look because the shaft is too wide). As far as comfort-I wear Paul Green, Aquatalia, Earthies, Born. This is my first time with this brand and I am pretty happy. Day 1:wore these to run errands-ALL DAY and felt a few tweaks but as the day wore on they broke in nicely. I do think the lack arch support but I can correct that. For the price-I think this is a great buy.
LOVE these boots, but they are very narrow. I am disappointed that I must return them. i have never had to buy a wide shoe in my life.
