Rebecca Minkoff 'Cupid' Satchel
Adorable bag, horrible hardware
The RM Cupid bag is my fourth RM handbag, and I love it for its buttery leather and different hardware - it's much different looking than my two MABs and one MAC.
I bought it last May before moving to London, specifically to use in London. I didn't start using it on a daily basis until late June, and within a month the hardware connecting a handle clasp to the handle itself broke, making the bag un-useable. The handbag sat in my closet for months until a friend went to the U.S. and I had her bring back to the U.S. to return directly to RM for repair in November.
I used the bag daily from late November until late March, when I noticed that another bit of hardware was about to break - the large metal loop that the handle clasp hangs onto is coming off its metal plate backing. Now it sits in my closet again, un-useable..
I am incredibly frustrated with this, especially since sorting these issues from abroad is costly and much more difficult. I will be contacting Nordstrom to request an exchange for another bag - I should not have to repair a bag's hardware twice in the space of 5 months of actual use.
I would recommend purchasing another RM bag with more robust hardware, such as the classic MAB.. Or perhaps another brand altogether.
love this bag
this bag is perfect! The purple color is actually a little more purple in person, not so pink, more like a magenta. It is so beautiful. Every time I wear the bag out, I get complements on the color of it. Also it is a good size, i can fit everything in it, with out it being too big or too small. Also I like how i can take off both the handle straps or the long strap, so i don't have to bother with both on at the same time
I am so disappointed with this purse!! I am on my SECOND tan cupid purse and the seam keeps coming apart on the inside directly above the zipper pocket. I returned the first, hoping I just got a bad one, but no luck!! It looks like it is glued rather than sewn there. This is not a cheap purse, so back it goes. This may be my first and LAST experience with RM purses...
Walking through the handbag department last night, I thought I was on my way to see if I could still find a violet Marc Jacobs Baby Aidan, and then this caught my eye. Oh, it is a lovely sight to behold. The leather is so soft yet vibrant, the violet is a beautiful spring bright, it is a roomy bag, and a little structured, though soft enough for it to be relaxed if not stuffed full. I'm in love with this bag and so glad I saw it. If you're on the fence, I would say, jump! I don't think you'll regret it.
