Rockport 'RocSports Lite' Lace Up
A Rockport Misstep
I've had great experiences in the past with Rockport shoes. But this particular style was a real disappointment -- and the sole reason (no cleverness intended) was the rubber attachment at the back of the shoe that normally prevents the back of one's ankle from being rubbed/cut/chafed. Just the opposite with this style; the hard rubber immediately cut into my ankle and was extremely uncomfortable. Since the rubber is not very flexible, there's no way that I could imagine the discomfort decreasing over time (and after destroying dozens of pairs of socks). I've had very good success in general ordering shoes from Nordstrom, but I recommend steering clear of this attractive but poorly-thought-out Rockport style.
Lightweight, but too narrow
I found these shoes to be far too narrow. I was surprised at first as the Rockport XW shoes normally fit me fine. Then I realized Adidas has their hands on this product, and I have always found Adidas shoes to be on the narrow side.
They did look a little "grandpa style" to me as well from the top, then sort of athletic shoe looking from the side. It's like a shoe with a missing identity.
I wore them around the house for about one hour. After 20 minutes, they were pressing on the balls of my feet which was uncomfortable, and that was sitting down. I immediately put the shoes back in the box and shipped them back.
Its hard to find size 15 shoes in the first place, so when we find them and they are wonderful it is something we celebrate. Not only are these shoes very good looking, they are so lightweight and your feet don't overheat. Highly reccommend these.
These shoes rock! I do a lot of walking on the job in the city, metro, and through various airports every week and I wear out shoes constantly. As it turns out, I was also wearing out myself - my feet, knees, and back in particular. Traditionally I look for shoes that are similar in style, but often times they sacrifice comfort. These shoes have made a big difference in support and still maintain the casual, work-appropriate image that get me through my week. definitely a keeper if you're on the move!
