Salvatore Ferragamo 'Atene' Loafer
The Best Penny Loafer Ever !!!
These Penny Loafers are the best shoes I have ever purchased, however, I need to exchange them(D width0 for an EE (wider width). Ferragamo's runs very narrow. The auburn color is actually much darker than depicted in the Nordstrom photos. it's more a richer dark chocolate, almost black indoors. The pebble grain leather is understated, which I'm glad about. I was worried the pebble grains would be bold and overpower the design of the shoes.
These shoes are impeccably crafted. This is the first time I've invested on such a high-end brand. I thought a $350-$400 pair of shoes was good enough, but these Ferragamo's made me see quality in a different light. I'm not even phased by the price because they're so awesome.
I like everything about the overall design of the shoe. I like the old skool look of the soles in the way they extend out from the shoe, unlike the majority of Ferragamo's. The grooves that go around the shoe itself, where the leather meets the sole, is very traditional, yet designed in a much more modern way.
The auburn color is very striking (I was surprised how much I liked the color and could settle with it if it didn't come in black), but with my business wardrobe, I prefer to have them in Black and with a wider EE width.
