Salvatore Ferragamo 'Magnifico' Loafer
I really really wanted to like these shoes, I had my eye on them for quite some time. They looked and felt great at both the store and home. I was thinking the perfect casual shoes for jeans or slacks with/without a sports coat. Then I wore them into NYC and had to walk 10 city blocks. OMG, the Gancini bit (strap) dug into the bridge of my foot with every step.....brought me to tears. I wish there was some give in the strap, but no, so back to the store they went. I had the size 12 EE ( the 13's were way to big) so there was plenty of room.
This is an awsome shoe, great look. Im changing it for 1/2 size more because runs a bit narrow.
Just purchased these recently, mainly because there is no inside liner. Thus, my feet are able to breath much better. These are great with dressy jeans and slacks, but not with a suit. SF provides several belts that match the nickel Gancini bit.
The loafer is wonderful and quite comfortable to walk in. Personally, I think the pebbled texture looks better for the brown loafers, but not with the black loafer. The pebble texture tends to sway toward the casual side.
I purchased shoe trees that were one-size smaller than suggested because the suggested size seemed to stretch the loafer. My foot size is 10.5, and the shoe tree that was recommended was large.
1/2 size down worked better for me
Very versatile and nice shoe. I have 3 pairs now. I will say, contrary to a comment above, I had to return mine and SIZE DOWN as these shoes are very soft and will stretch nicely and hug your foot.
Don't get this style of shoe too big (or even normal) as you will step out of it, or at least feel it very loose, once it gets to know your foot.
1/2 size down did the trick great ! The leather is so soft, you will not think it is too small.
