Seafolly Polka Dot Halter Tankini Top (DD Cup)
well made but no support
This item is supposed to be made for a larger bust. I am a natural 34G. I read a bunch of great reviews of this suit by others with a similar bust size. I found this bathing suit top to be well made but it lacks the propper support I would expect from such a pricey suit. The straps are adjustable and criss-cross which is a plus. And I like the molded foam cups. But, there are no underwires or even an elastic band/shelf bra to help keep the breasts in place. I felt like there was no way I could swim in this suit since there was nothing to keep my bust in the cups where it should be. I took my measurements and followed the Seafolly sizing and I think a size smaller would have been too small. I am sadly returning this suit.
Good style yet need a size in between
I ordered this on-line on the recommendation of the clerk in the store, where she said she could not keep them in stock because they are the best suit for heavy-chested women like myself. She also encouraged me to order several sizes and return the ones that don't fit. I am glad I did, ordering both a 12 and a 14. In fact I accidentally ordered two size 12's and found one fit slightly better than the other. However, what would have worked best would have been a size in between a 12 and a 14 because the 12 was a little tight in the chest, but the waist fit great, yet the 14 was too big, especially around the waist. I took both sizes with me to the store to ask her advice, and she recommended I go with the 12 since they stretch a little underwater and the 14 would then be too big. Haven't tried it in the water yet myself, but I really appreciated her advice (and she appreciated me returning the 14 to the store so she could offer it to another customer!). And I ordered a size 10 in the bottoms, and they fit great! A size 12 was not available, but since she says they stretch in the water, I'm not sure I would have wanted to do a larger size anyway.
cups are okay, band width is too big
I am a 34DD. I ordered this suit in hopes of finding a decent fit, which is tough when you are large chested. The cups fit and I liked the "halter" like fit with the criss-cross in the back. Once I made a normal move it was very clear that the size 10 has a much larger bandwidth than 34. I'd guess more like a 38 and then it wouldn't be a D cup... I ordered this in both the 10 and the 12 and didn't even bother trying on the 12.
This tankini is cute as a bug's ear but there is no underwire for the cups and therefore it is not very flattering, at least not on me. I might have ordered a size too big but that was due to other customer reviews that I read saying it ran small and one should always order swimsuits a size larger. The body almost fits but if you have some extras around your middle it makes it look bigger and like I said the cups didn't do their job. I think this looks best on somebody who has the model's body type. Big busted but small waist as it really clings to you. As much as I like it, unfortunately it is going back
