T Tahari 'Melvina' Pencil Skirt (Petite)
I am 5'3 100 lbs and the size 0 petite was too small. It was a little on the short side too but the main issue was that it puckered in the front (where pockets would be). I am a size 0 petite in Tahari pants so the skirt not fitting was unexpected and disappointing. The fabric was nice.
Not a good fit
Skirt was perfect, but the lining inside was so tight, it was uncomfortable to even try and wear. Love Tahari brand, which always has a great fit, so not sure if this was just a batch of skirts created where the seamstress made an error with the lining, but I have to return it. When I bent down, I felt the lining was about to rip. Would not have been comfortable to wear.
Other than that, great skirt.
I needed to buy a new suit and found this skirt and the T Tahari Maren jacket in the petites section. I tried on the navy and the gray and ended up buying them both. I'm 5'4" 125lbs, have more of a boyish figure, and the 2P fit me perfectly! This is one of the very rare times I can buy suiting and not need anything altered.
The skirt is very simple and I like the length. It may be a bit short for those who prefer a more conservative look (the length on the model is pretty accurate). Like over reviewers have said, it's probably a bit tight at he hips if you're curvy. Otherwise, this is a great buy.
Not if you have hips
I really liked the feel of the skirt and especially the length. Unfortunately, if you have wide hips, the skirt is not cut for it and it puckers up. I ended up getting the halogen seamed pencil skirt. It was a little longer than I wanted, but it fit well, so I kept it.
On the other hand, if your hips are average to narrow, this would look great on you. The length is such that it is great for going out, maybe not for work though.
