Tadashi Shoji Lace Overlay Blouson Gown
Dress looks amazing on! I was nervous that the blousey top would not be flattering, but it looks great. Color is nice. The lace seems to be a bit fragile. A forever dress for sure.
I loved this dress. After looking and looking for a dress for my son's wedding, which is on the beach in Mexico, I felt this was a little formal. However, when it arrived, I loved it so, and the fabric was exquisite. It also flattered my full figure by hiding a large midriff and tummy. But it was too small! And, try as I might, I could not find a larger size on Nordstrom's site or anywhere else. I took it to a streamstress and with a couple of nips and tucks, she has made it fit me.
In order to streamline it a bit for the casual beach wedding, we took off the bow and made a belt out of the grosgrain ribbon, and hemmed it up to ankle length. I will add a strand of pearls. Voila!
Not cut for dancing!
I ordered this lovely dress for my son's upcoming wedding. The navy lace overlay is beautiful and the nude lining is perfect. But...the skirt is cut much to slim for an evening of dancing at the reception.
I'm 5'8", 145lbs. A size 10 in this dress was too big in the waist and didn't flatter my slim, athletic figure. If only, the skirt was more A-line or had a slit to allow more freedom of movement. However, it is a LOVELY, CLASSIC style...IF you plan on sitting/standing...but NOT cut for dancing.
This Tadashi dress is very well made and a very classy dress! Great detail.
