TOMS 'Sierra' Sandal
I was very hesitant to buy these shoes. First off, I thought they looked a little "grandma-ish". However, since I've been searching for comfortable wedges (oxymoron, anyone??!!) I decided to give these a try. I wore them the other day to work (about 6 hours) and was standing on my feet about 95% of the time. My feet held up until early afternoon. I made the conscious decision to change into Birks to put my feet at ease. However, my feet weren't even that sore, I just didn't want to risk them hurting at the end of the day. But, I got so many compliments from my coworkers, I was surprised. I must admit that the wedges are pretty comfortable, considering the height. I bought my usual size, size 6, in the neutral and am happy with my purchase. I also have the Calypso wedges which I rarely wear, but they were too cute to return. My only complaint would be that the strap that goes across the front of your ankle be longer. My ankles are by no means thick, and I have to really pull to use the second slot. Also, I guess I have two complaints, is that I wish that the straps that go across the top would have been thinner. Having the straps be thinner would have made the wedges more attractive and feminine. Then again, for me, comfort outweighs beauty. Overall, I'm very happy with my shoes!
Comfy & Stylish
I was looking for a neutral pair of sandals that goes with everything! These are So comfortable and stylish. You can go casual or dressy with them. I can wear them all day without any injury to my feet! I typically wear a size 8 and that's what I bought and it's true to size. Bear in mind that they do stretch with wear like most Toms shoes.
I have these in the neutral and the black. I haven't really worn them yet but being a fan of Toms, they seem perfect. I wear a 5 and while the regular Toms shoes are now too big on me (after they changed the sizing), these still fit like a true 5. The footbed is comfortable and so is the height. I can't wait to wear them! Oh and the price is great, too!
The straps and soles felt nice and well sewn together, but the bottom of the shoes started to wear and fall apart a lot sooner than I expected.
The bottoms of the shoes are tattered and peeled, totally worn out after about 5-7 uses for a few hours a time, mostly not walking.
I certainly hope the shoes Tom's donates to children lasts longer.
