Topshop Abstract Print Silk Tulip Dress
Looks better in picture
The dress made me look fat and short...I hope I am not either ;)
such a bummer
i was so excited to get this dress in the mail, but was disappointed. it's more of a cap sleeve than regular sleeve, first of all. and even though i ordered a size up, it barely zipped. it really did fit great from the waist down, but it did not work with my boobs at all. since the fabric is silk and has no give, it made them completely flat and unnatural looking. the fabric is beautiful, but this dress was a mess.
Not like the picture
The picture made the dress look a little more casual than it was, and I thought I might be able to wear it to work - a kind of "fall outfit" with a trench coat and some nice mary-janes or something. The dress is actually very shiny and puffy, so it's more like for a cocktail party. Also, it's a bit small.
emphasizes your hips
This is one of 6 dresses I bought online for New Years and while I did not keep this one, I wanted to review it. Pretty dress, appeared well made - lined and the fabric was elegant. It might have been in the running among the dresses I liked except the gathers were not evenly spaced. This may be a design feature as there was a cluster of gathers at each side at the hip - and these were even. So while you would expect this style to emphasize the hips, this particular dress took that too far for me because the side gathers actually stuck out wider than the other gathers. I would not recommend this to anyone unless they have "boy" hips.
