Tory Burch 'Filipa' Wedge Espadrille
True to size and super comfy but I returned in favor of the gold Filipa as it was more neutral. If I could have had both, I would have kept them!
There were many more reviews on this shoe earlier when I purchased mine. Most said the shoe sizing wasn't correct. In spite of all the negative reviews I went to the store and purchased a size 8 in the black and off white. The salesman had to put a pad in the heal of one shoe because of slipping, now that I have them home I'm finding that the are very tight around the toe area and uncomfortable. I've been wearing them indoors hoping that they'd stretch, but so far that's not working. These shoes are super cute on and would be great if they fit correctly. It also seems that the heal of the shoe doesn't come up far enough on your heal and that's the cause of the slipping. I will continue to try to see if I can make them work for now, because I love the look of the shoe, but otherwise I will have to return them.
cute but small
These Tory's run one half size smaller than her other shoes.
Best Filipa Color Combination
I went in to Nordy's intending to purchase the Filipa wedges in gold but found them to fit super awkwardly. I tried on a few other pairs in gold to weed out the inconsistent sizing but to no avail and was about to give up when I tried on this black and ivory color combination on a whim. I am a size 6.5 but I was trying down to the 6 in the gold ones and still having my feet slide out because they are so wide but surprisingly, in the black and ivory ones, I was able to go up to a 7 comfortably! Perhaps, it was just the pair I got but these were noticeably narrower. I also realized after trying them on, that the black and ivory ones look better than the gold ones. (at least on me). They are a classic, pretty, "go with anything" pair of espadrilles that also happen to be insanely comfortable. Glad the gold ones didn't work out after all :)
