Yves Saint Laurent 'La Laque Couture' Nail Lacquer
While I was waiting for my online order to arrive I visited my local Nordstrom store to try on the tester. I was thoroughly disappointed with how unremarkable the color was. Of course, the quality is fabulous, as it should be for the relatively high price, but Vert D'Orient is not unforgetable. There are less expensive dupes for this color and I definitely do not recommend it. I will be returning mine.
buying the brand
So I was very excited to receive this in the mail, I purchased it online and I think I had very high expectations and when I finally did get to use it and it did not meet my expectations it truly did disappoint me. You really are paying for the brand but it is disappointing that the product itself doesn't meet brand name expectations. If you want something that works and are looking for brand name I suggest Chanel or Givenchy. What didn't work for me was the hassle of the removable cap and I had to use 3+ coats to get a good color. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND(at least not one I like)
I always keep my toes painted and YSL goes on beautifully - the formula spreads smoothly and the brush is designed so that it takes just a few swipes. My favorite color is the rose renaissance - it's a perfect medium pink and looks pretty.
Best polish I own!
I got this in Bleu Majorelle. I have to applaud YSL (Saint Laurent now?) for a great formula and an even better brush! Application is a breeze; it's clean and simple. The formula dries fairly fast and is quite resilient. It has enough gloss and durability that I can actually wear it for 3-4 days without a top coat and it won't chip or strip. Really, I'm so impressed with YSL--it may be time to give Chanel a rest.
