The Atlantic-Pacific blogger and Halogen collaborator tells us how to dress for every festive occasion.

Cinderella's fairy godmother has got nothing on Blair Eadie, the fashion influencer and blogger who has lent her talents to a new Halogen collection—exclusively at Nordstrom—that's perfect for party season. With its tulle skirts, bow blouses and sparkly shoes, these are clothes that could outcharm any prince.
We spoke with Eadie about the season's biggest trends, how she gets dressed for holiday events and what she'll be wearing now through New Year's.
How do you begin picking out your party outfit?
Living in New York City, shoes are always a factor. If I'm walking or taking the subway to the party, I'll probably start with a flat. We created some really amazing flats in the collection that still feel dressy enough for a party—like the pink glitter flat.
For me it's also about comfort. I'm always cold so I find a jacket and accessories—like an amazing cashmere wrap or a faux-fur stole—that I would be comfortable keeping on if we're somewhere not warm enough. After that, it's how dressy I want to be.
What colors do you think will be big this holiday?
For me it's about pushing the envelope. Everyone else might be in navy and black, but I like unexpected tones for the holiday. Lilac has been a huge trend, so I'll be on the lookout for lilac pieces. This holiday, I would ground it in more traditional colors, say, for instance, lilac is beautiful with burgundy. I've also been feeling mint again lately. I own a lot of dark hunter green, and I think those two colors go great together. There's a coat in our collection that's an almost floor-length mint coat that would look awesome with an emerald or deep-green velvet dress or suit. Think about different color combinations!
How will you accessorize?
I think brooches are one of the most underplayed accessories—they add so much to a look. Recently I've been investing in a few of those that would look beautiful on a dress or a faux-fur piece. And of course, the easiest way to dress up a plain dress is a beautiful earring.
What would you wear …
To a work party?
Workwear is really evolving and changing. There are so many suiting options out there that feel on trend. I would switch it up and dress up one of my suits with a party top and a fun pair of shoes. In the collection we have an amazing three-bow velvet top, or you could wear a Lurex blouse. And then wearing a fun, really high heel, maybe even an open toe, which looks really chic back to a suit.
To a cocktail party?
During the holidays there are so many options for fun skirts. In the collection we have some really fun chiffon or tulle pleated skirts that you could wear back to a tissue-weight sweater, awesome tights and pumps. If you wanted to go the dress route for the party, I typically pair a dress with an elegant coat, if it's cold, and tights and heels. One fun way to put a twist on holiday dressing is to choose contrasting or pop-color tights to pair with your dress.
When you're entertaining at home?
There's nothing better than having people over to your home. As much as I love to dress up, when I'm home I go casual. If it's just dinner with friends (we're ordering out because I don't cook), I love a chic pair of flats or slides, amazing high-waist denim and a fun top.
