Roger Vivier Interview
The Roger Vivier creative director takes us on a guided tour through his whimsical and wonderful Instagram account.

"I love the fact that there is no other footwear brand that has historical value and heritage that equals that of Maison Roger Vivier," enthuses Gherardo Felloni, the house's creative director since March 2018 and only the third since Vivier opened his first boutique in Paris in 1937. His claim is backed by all the fashion icons—from Josephine Baker to Queen Elizabeth II, Cate Blanchett to Céline Dion—who've stepped out in classic Vivier styles.
Felloni is uniquely aware of and equipped to take on the brand's storied history, but he loves to put a playful bent on it: he's tapped legends Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon to star in short films for recent campaigns that include abundant color and camp. "I'm very excited that I can make the maison contemporary," says the Dior and Miu Miu alum. "That I can help continue its legacy in fashion. It is a great honor!"
We've been getting to know the handsome Italian through his exuberant Instagram account (@gherardofelloni), and we asked him to be our guide through some of his favorite photos.
A photo of your favorite place?
This is my garden at home in Paris. It's very rare to have a garden in the city, and I love it. It's one of my favorite places because when I was growing up, I was surrounded by nature. So, having such a green space in the middle of Paris always reminds me of my childhood.
Your favorite outfit in a photo?
Here you can see my favorite outfit, a white cotton shirt that I wore with two diamond pins by the famous French jeweler and collector Henri Vever, which date back to the second half of the 19th century. This photo was taken by Bruno Van Mossevelde at my home in Paris.
