Treasure & Bond February 2017 Update
A Milestone Gift
Today marked a milestone moment for Treasure & Bond—we just announced the giveback brand's largest donation ever: a $719,107 gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Canada. The donation (which represents 2.5% of the brand's net sales from February 2, 2016, through January 31, 2017) means we've donated a grand total of more than $1.4 million since we launched the Treasure & Bond brand in 2014.
The success of Treasure & Bond just wouldn't be possible without the continued support of our customers. The brand's laid-back, Americana aesthetic has really resonated with them, which has enabled us to bring Treasure & Bond products into more departments across our stores. That translates into an even bigger donation to organizations that are doing such important work to empower youth in our communities.
There are lots of exciting things coming up in 2017 for Treasure & Bond, including the brand's expansion into boys' apparel. The spring collection will continue to focus on a classic, all-American aesthetic, but with a reworked, lived-in twist. Customers can expect to find lots of easy-to-wear pieces that can be layered for an effortless, casual look. Think soft tees, worn-in button-down shirts, cozy sweaters and must-have denim favorites.
The exciting news doesn't stop there, as the new year also marks a new nonprofit partner for Treasure & Bond. From February 1, 2017, through January 31, 2018, Treasure&Bond will support YWCA in the U.S. and Canada. In the U.S., funds will support the organization's TechGYRLS initiative, which encourages girls to strengthen their abilities and confidence in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).
"TechGYRLS teaches girls how to use technological tools and enhance their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills," said Tycely Williams, vice president of development, YWCA USA. "The program offers girls a supportive environment in which to enhance their curiosity and overall knowledge in the areas of design, animation, programming and robotics. We also know that exposure to this type of programming provides girls with the confidence and skills they need to achieve excellence in any profession they choose to pursue. We are thrilled to have Nordstrom support this effort."
In Canada, Treasure & Bond funds will support various YWCA youth programs.
